Omar Makhluf, 20, was in his Mercedes on the M1 northbound in Newport Pagnell when he collided with the central reservation and caused his car to lose a wheel to the rim. Despite the damage to the car, he continued to drive for several miles before finally pulling over in a service station. In his police interview, he struggled to stay awake and yawned while officers questioned him about the offence. Makhluf also claimed he wasn't driving dangerously when initially asked by police. He was arrested on the same day and charged on 13 August, 2025. Last week, Makhluf, of Keel Close, Barking, pleaded guilty to one count of dangerous driving and one count of driving whilst unfit through drugs. Makhluf was sentenced to 22 months in total and disqualified for four years and 336 days for this offence and other driving offences elsewhere in the country.

A 16-year-old boy from Woodchurch was arrested on suspicion of Theft of a motor vehicle; Driving without a licence and Driving without insurance. The vehicle crashed into a building, causing significant damage. One of the kids fled on foot, while the other became trapped inside the car. With police arriving and guns drawn, the trapped individual had to crawl out over the top of the vehicle and was subsequently arrested. The other suspect managed to escape the scene.
