Wonder how it'd fly if I told him I've watched a few Madea movies so I pretty much know everything about being a black man.

I know all about Black America because I watched Good Times and Sanford and Son. What an absolute Goddamned walnut.

Democrats act as if they expect us to thank them for oppressing our votes. They are telling millions of Virginians living in the purple areas voting against their boondoggle that our voices are irrelevant. That we don't matter. And, are celebrating it. That's the antithesis of being Virginian. They have become the tyrants our forefathers fought so valiantly against. If this stands, "Sic Semper Tyrannis" is no more.

Imagine a white politician standing up and saying they understood black America because the watched "Good Times", "Sandford & Son", and "What's Happening?". That would go over like a fart in church.

And I think "I know a little about" African American culture and living in cities such as Manhattan 'upper east side' and Brooklyn, aww heck I even know about living in Chicago because I watched The Jeffersons', The Cosby Show, and Good Times. See how that works. Senator Lamont Bagby was born in 1976 when we literally had only the "big three" networks: ABC, CBS, and NBC, it wasn't until the late 80's that, only about 60%, of America had cable. Everyone watched the same shows!!

His understanding of rural Virginia comes from 1970s-80s TV sitcoms. That's not insight; it's a caricature. Lazy, condescending, and self-owning. "I don't actually engage with these communities — I just watched stereotypes about them." If you're debating how to draw fair maps that respect rural voices, claiming expertise from Boss Hogg and the General Lee isn't the flex he thinks it is. It's the legislative equivalent of "I have Black friends" or "Some of my best friends are from the country... on TV." FYI - all but 5 of the sit-com the Dukes of Hazard were filmed in Burbank California - not exactly the heart of Southern rural life.

So… like the Dukes of Hazzard, is it safe to assume that the police and County Admins are all corrupt?
