Nigeria recently awarded a $200 million contract, through intermediary NIGUS, to a Turkish firm for 100,000 FPV kamikaze drones. There is little clarity on the delivery timeline or procurement mechanism. With just a fraction of that funding, thousands of FPV Kamikaze drones could be sourced from Nigerian manufacturers and rapidly deployed to the front.

President of France Emmanuel Macron has called on French manufacturers to increase the volume of arms production. Paris is offering arms contracts to European countries. As of 2023, France was among the top ten countries in the world in terms of military spending, as well as among the top five countries in the world in terms of military exports. (Ahead of it are the United States, Germany and China). France's military-industrial complex accounts for more than 25% of all European military capacity. Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, France has made tremendous progress in its military industrial complex. In an interview with Le Figaro in early 2025, the French President said he would like to allocate "about 3-3.5% of GDP" to defense instead of the current 2.1%. Army budgets are approved in the military planning law, the current law covers the period from 2024 to 2030 and envisages spending €413 billion. For 2025, €50.5 billion is allocated for defense spending. If France were to spend 3.5% of GDP (based on current levels), it would allocate €70 billion per year to defense. France is one of the few European countries with a defense industry capable of developing weapons from start to finish without being dependent on the United States. JUST IN: Iran will likely "synchronize" their drone attacks with "faster moving" missiles which could be launched closer to the time the drones arrive. The Iranian launched drones are "suicide drones" which will take hours to reach Israel. Israel is preparing for the attack by launching aircraft and evacuating military bases. According to the New York Times, the slow moving suicide drones could be used a decoy to distract Israeli defenses to make way for the missiles. "In order to intercept these launches, we have the circles of protection from both the Navy and the Air Force on several layers, and we have additional circles of protection from the US military," the IDF said.

I thank each of our combat brigades, all soldiers, and commanders who are using all their strength to destroy the enemy, especially by effectively deploying our drone capabilities. For this year, a million drones have already been contracted with our manufacturers, and by the end of the year, there will be more. Our drone production capabilities are consistently expanding. We're working not only with state funding but also with partners who are investing in our drone manufacturing. I thank each of our combat brigades, all soldiers, and commanders who are using all their strength to destroy the enemy, especially by effectively deploying our drone capabilities. Our Ukrainian Defense and Security Forces are already gaining an advantage in this area – in July, our soldiers deployed more drones than the occupiers. This needs to be a steady trend on the front – across all types of drones available to our units: from FPV to all others, including our long-range drones – which are already having a strategic impact on the war. As always, a good and productive meeting with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre. We discussed in detail our cooperation in the production and use of drones. Our experience is already being used in the Middle East and the Gulf. We are improving defense against “shahed” drones, and we believe this should also be done in Europe. Today, for this purpose, we initiated a Drone Deal with Norway and signed a Joint Declaration on Enhanced Defense and Security Cooperation. Now our teams will work out the details. We also focused on our joint production projects and cooperation priorities for this year, and not only in defense. We continue to work together with partners to strengthen our countries. I personally thank Jonas, Norway, and all Norwegians for their military and energy support for Ukraine, for strengthening our air defense, and for their readiness to continue support for the PURL initiative. We feel your support and are sincerely grateful for it.
