The IDF provides additional details on the physical markers demarcating the Yellow Line — to which the military withdrew under the terms of the current ceasefire — in the Gaza Strip. The concrete blocks painted yellow, topped with a yellow metal sign, are 3.5 meters tall, and are being placed at distances of some 200 meters from each other along the Yellow Line, the military says. The IDF began marking the line yesterday, and the military says the effort will continue "in the coming period." The Yellow Line, as drawn out by mediators, encompasses over half of the Strip’s territory, or 53% — most of which is outside of urban areas.

EXCLUSIVE FOOTAGE: Israel moved to expand the area under its control in Gaza on Thursday following yesterday’s attacks that killed dozens of Palestinians by advancing with a tank incursion in eastern Gaza City and physically moving the yellow concrete blocks that demarcate the “yellow line” where its troops withdrew to last month as part of the ceasefire agreement. The blocks were moved around 300 meters westward in the neighborhoods of Al-Tuffah and Al-Shujaiya, according to Drop Site contributor عبد القادر صباح, before the troops withdrew. Families woke up Thursday to suddenly find themselves on the wrong side of the “yellow line” with the Israeli military shelling the area, causing panic and a new wave of displacement. Convoys of the Israeli-backed "Popular Forces" Palestinian armed group are seen patrolling parts of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, including along the Philidelphi Corridor near Israeli military bases. This confirms their continues presence well outside of their controlled zones, under the protection of the IDF. The Popular Forces has ~500-700 Palestinian fighters, and is funded by Israel to help combat Hamas and other Pro-Hamas armed groups. They operate in both southern and northern Gaza.

Videos from Quneitra show Israeli planes flying low over fields near the buffer zone separating Syria from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The zone is supposed to be demilitarised, yet since the fall of Bashar al-Assad in late 2024 Israel has established military positions there and pushed further into Syrian territory. Farmers say their crops turned yellow within days of the spraying. Local agricultural authorities report that hundreds of hectares were damaged, including orchards. One farmer told France 24 he lost 7.5 hectares of wheat after Israeli aircraft sprayed chemicals on January 27.
