The next milestone for the Stablecoin FX Layer When we launched the FX Layer on Uniswap v4, the objective wasn't simply to deploy liquidity. It was to rethink how stablecoin liquidity is coordinated. The initial deployment brought $150M to Uniswap v4 and processed $70M+ in volume within its first three days. Today's integration of Sky's LitePSM into Uniswap's routing infrastructure is another important step towards that vision. Why? Nigeria's very first regulated Naira stablecoin is now live on Celo! cNGN Stablecoin is now live on Celo's network, the most widely adopted blockchain for stablecoin payments, bringing with it the first Naira stablecoin fully regulated by the Nigerian SEC. "Bringing a compliant, fiat-backed Naira to Celo unlocks low-cost settlement across onchain FX, lending and borrowing, DeFi, everyday payments, and remittances, which brought $21.8 billion into Nigeria in 2025 alone", reads an official release. Impressively, the launch of $cNGN on Celo constitutes the 8th fiat-backed stablecoin to launch on the network in the space of just 8 days. It further brings $CELO's native stablecoin count to 32. Also worth noting is the fact that onchain FX platform Textile FX will serve as a launch partner, with a $USDT / $cNGN pool live from day one. The launch, though impactful, is unsurprising, given Celo's track record of development in Nigeria specifically. Opera’s self-custodial stablecoin wallet MiniPay actually first went live in the country back in 2023. Nigeria itself is also well-known for being a hotbed of crypto innovation, the nation ranking 6th for crypto adoption globally, and accounting for ~60% of all stablecoin flows into sub-Saharan Africa.
