Kushian Muchiri, Chair, Association of Matatu Transport Owners: We had a lengthy discussion, and after the deliberations, we were able to agree on one major item, which was the adulteration, because all our vehicles, since a few years ago, the government instructed that we no longer have Euro 3 vehicles coming in, and as a result, we have Euro 4 and 5 engines. Those vehicles are fuel sensitive. We could not agree on the issue of having kerosene with a difference of 70-100 shillings from diesel. I want to thank the CS and his team because they were able to see reason and logic in our argument. We agreed unanimously that we make sure the price of kerosene and diesel is at par so that we don’t have those issues of adulteration. My thoughts & analysis on Mark Carney's speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos; "Canada has what the world wants. We are an energy superpower. We have the most educated population in the world." * It was an excellent, strong, and statesman like speech that Caandians in general should be happy and even proud of. * It was an important speech to deliver ahead of Donald Trump's speech tomorrow. This is also an attempt to create contrast in leadership and stability. The problem isn't the speech is what happens outside of it - the reality. * You can't say Canada is open for business and not deliver. * You can't tell the world we have what you want and take 20 years to navigate our own red tape. * You can't tell the world we have the best educated people in the world while having a braindrain because they have nothing to work on. The words sound nice but time and time again the government fails to deliver on them. For Canada, to become the core power player we so desperately want to be we need to be dependable and stable. We can't be infiltrated and work with foreign government that openly want to destroy the West. We can't tell our allies there is no business case when they need us. We have to be confident in the integrity and sovereignty of our nation and not surrender it to the ideologies and foreigners who come by. We need to fix and remove everything that gets in the way of what we are trying to offer to the world. Even though we are obviously upset with Donald Trump conduct we also need to remember that Canada's closest ally and our biggest economic driver will always be the US and there is nothing wrong with it (and yes we need to grow outside of it). With such, we need to have the sensibility not to run to the worst regimes around the world and surrender ourselves and this continent to them. If we want to lead, sometimes we need to lead in our relationships including with the US.

Then Bob looked directly at me and said “stand down you need to wait” Let me make something crystal clear: that stand-down did not come from Washington, the Pentagon, or somebody else talking in his ear. It came from Bob. Weeks before September 11, the commander of the 17 Feb had already told Bob that if anything happened, they were not going to help us. Then, on the night of the attack, while we were getting ready to go, Bob got that same commander on the phone. And again, the answer was the same: they were not going to help. But understand this part too: WE DID NOT KNOW THAT. We had no idea what 17 Feb was telling Bob that night or what they had told him weeks earlier. If we had known they had already told him they were not coming, we would have punched out immediately. We were standing there ready to move, believing Bob was still trying to coordinate some kind of local response and a joint link-up. Meanwhile, he already knew 17 Feb was not coming. And he was still telling us to stand down. I was standing there. Bob looked directly at me and said it. Americans were under attack. We were about a mile away. We were ready to move, and Bob was telling us not to leave. We did not wait for him to change his mind. The final straw was Alec Henderson, the senior Diplomatic Security agent at the compound, coming over the radio: “If you guys don’t get here now, we’re all gonna fucking die.” That was it. Americans were calling for help. Hell, we started leaving before our team leader was even with us. We left without Bob’s permission. That is the stand-down I have been talking about all these years. And that stand-down order is the reason Ambassador Stevens and Sean Smith are not with us today. I saw the Glory of God I saw the Glory I just left a place, and I really don't know how to explain it. I escaped direct gunfire in the front and in the back with AK47 from all sides. I saw smoke around my car. None of us were hurt, how we escaped we didn't know. Thank you Jesus! Over 3 guys shooting at us. We went somewhere, while waiting for the person we heard gun shots. Only for us to see some guys with Ak 47 shoot at us. I started the car, reversed and saw more guys shooting. They were after some persons and thought we were with them. But those ones had ran. So they faced us I can't tell how we were unhurt. We saw smoke everywhere in the car I just kept driving and speaking in tongues. It was after we left and in a safe place that I saw our tire flat. God came through, we escaped, I was driving and I was looking at them shooting at us in the front, in the back, from all sides, I was reversing and they were shooting, all over the car we were feeling the smoke and it didn't hit us Until I left there, I didn't know what happened. How deep it was. Know I am seeing the guy in front pointing the AK 47 and shooting rapidly. Turning to meet another fire. Bending down and just speaking in tongues, the sounds were deafening and smokes all around the car. I had 3 guys inside with me. My workers. What we have is real. What we have is real.
