Parents, electric dirt bikes are NOT e-bikes. Walton County Sheriff's Office, Florida is seeing an increase in electric dirt bikes, also called “e-motos”, being ridden in neighborhoods and on public roads. Monday, six of these electric dirt bikes were impounded and citations were issued to juveniles 11-14 years old. Many Do NOT have pedals, have high-powered motors, and are designed only for off-road use. Under Florida law, these vehicles are NOT street legal. It’s illegal to ride electric dirt bikes or "e-motos" on public roads, bike lanes, and sidewalks in Walton County. Driving an unregistered, electric dirt bike on a public road can lead to citations, fines, impoundment, and a mandatory court date. Parents are responsible for making sure e-motos are used legally and safely. Even if it was a gift for Christmas and thought to be an e-bike, many of these are electric dirt bikes and the rules of the road are different. Allowing a child to ride an e-moto on streets or sidewalks puts them and everyone around them at serious risk. Officers will be enforcing the 15 mph school-zone speed limit and cracking down on unsafe e-scooter and e-bike riding. Interim Police Chief Yep was at Ulloa Elementary today to get the word out. We all play a role in keeping streets safe: slow down, watch for kids in crosswalks, and let’s make this a safe start to the school year.

My take on this is I don’t feel unlicensed teens on E-bikes should be allowed to ride in the streets with oncoming traffic. I see a group of kids blocking the lanes for cars, it was only a matter of time before someone was hurt. These kids were riding in one lane and weaving into another, when this car tried to pass them it looked like one of the riders got too close and tried to swerve and fell. Then the ringleader of the group rides up and damages the car. I think that events like this is why lose drivers despise E-bike riders. The kid filming who damaged the car took down the plate number of the car and wanted them to pay for the damage to the bike that was damaged. I don’t think the car is liable for that. If anything I feel the kids are liable for the damage to the car, who do you feel is at fault here?

It's over $344M per year in our NJ electric bills Why don't we go over a few these programs, Ever Heard of Charge Up New Jersey? It's a program that gives folks up to $4,250 dollars for buying Electric Vehicles and chargers. This is costing NJ residents over $30 million dollars a year in their electric bills How about 'It Pay$ to Plug In', this program has spent $100M since 2012 on EV chargers in your electric Bill! This program cost ratepayers $27M this year alone as an SBC Per year Electric Vehicle Programs total $82.5M, Clean Energy Equity costs us $16.6M, NJ Wind total $22M and Energy Storage is currently costing the rate payers $29.5M per year, just to stress again this bill your voting on today will jump it up to $60M a year at a minimum! More than double it's current total Why is all this in our New Jersey Electric Bills? Want to know the real problem NJ? Democrats here have been pillaging your pockets, nickel and diming you year after year for pet projects in your electric bills. Speaking of cyclists who think the road revolves around them… This guy on the e-bike pulls up to a parked white Lamborghini. His wife already went around like a normal person. There’s clearly space. A kid is literally selling lemonade right there. But instead of doing the obvious thing, he stops, plants his feet, pulls out his phone, and acts like he’s the main character in a movie nobody asked for: “All I’m asking is if you can move your car off the bike lane into this side road. It would take ten seconds!” Bro. You have a bike. You have two legs. You have the easiest workaround in human history and the guy was ready to lewve. But no — he has to be THAT guy. The solo version of the problem. No spandex pack required. Just pure, undiluted “the world must accommodate me” energy. These people don’t ride bikes. They weaponize them. 🚲💀 Go around, Kyle. It’s not that deep.

This dude unloads on cop in a who is in the right type situation. We are in Adam's county PA where a Law Enforcement Ranger pulls over a man because he is saying he could not see his tag. By the officers own admission he was able to see the tag as he got closer but proceeded with the stop. As per usual the officer asks for ID and the man in truck went to work on this officer telling him this is an illegal stop as no crime has been committed so he is not required to provide ID. Through out the interaction he asks the officer if he is free to go and the officer doubles down on detainment. However at the same time when asked the officer was not able to articulate a crime. This dude unloads on cop in a who is in the right type situation. We are in Adam's county PA where a Law Enforcement Ranger pulls over a man because he is saying he could not see his tag. By the officers own admission he was able to see the tag as he got closer but proceeded with the stop. Do you ride a bike? Or an e-scooter? Or walk a dog? If so, please take a second to read this. If you are on a bike or scooter on a shared pathway and approaching someone walking a dog, please be courteous and slow down a little. Especially if coming up from behind. I am a wheelchair user with a dog and we have way too many close calls with fast moving bikes and scooters. People not using a bell and whipping by within inches. If the dog turned it's head or stepped a bit wide, they'd be hit. I'll happily move as far to one side of the path as possible, and if I've got the younger dog who isn't as experienced around fast moving things, I'll stop at the very side and have him sit in front of me to give everyone as much space as possible. If I don't know you're approaching, I can't do that. So please, for the love of dog, use your bell. Don't wait until you're right behind someone with a dog. Use it while you're still at a distance, and if you aren't sure they noticed it, ring it a few more times. Give them as much time as possible to move to the side and prepare the dog. If it's a puppy or a dog that hasn't had much experience with bikes, being able to get them off the path or give them a little extra distance from the fast moving bike helps prevent them from getting scared. The vast majority of cyclists are great and really respectful, but there's always a few that aren't. This year the challenge is kids on e-scooters. They are going fast and having fun. Safety isn't at the forefront of their mind. They often don't use a bell or slow down at blind corners, and many don't think about giving the dog any space. I've been startled a few times by them so I can only imagine how the dog felt. This is one of the reasons why I do a lot of desensitization and counter conditioning. Dog owners-you need to do your part to. If you've got headphones on, make sure you can still hear the bike bell. Make sure to give the cyclist or scooter rider as much space as possible from your dog. And of course, unless you are on a designated off leash trail, keep your dog on a leash. If you have a puppy or a newly adopted dog that might not be comfortable around bikes, take some kibble or treats and go hang out with them near a multi use path. Let them watch. As the bike or scooter approaches, drop a few treats on the ground. For many dogs, this is all it takes, but if your dog is visibly stressed, fixated on the bike, or reacting, try moving a further from the trail and once they're comfortable at a slightly further distance, try closer again. If they are still stressed or fearful even with more distance, don't force the issue. Instead introduce them to a bike that isn't moving, and gradually work them up from there. If they are struggling, talk to a trainer. Regardless of if you are holding a leash, riding a bike or scooter, or enjoying a walk outdoors, just be respectful. And of course, be safe.
