Based on @hasajedi strategy, I built a simple installable tool that allows you to fully customize your installations. You can name, color, and pin your Multi Codex Apps directly to your dock - edit, add, or remove them at any time. I only tested this on macOS. For Windows/Linux, will require testing. If it works, please let me know. If it doesn't, fix it, and make a PR please.

Drop a star if you like. Enjoy!

Nice, great solution. But how do you handle things like memory and computer history? I would hate for each app to have a separate store.

That's a great question. They are all independent. No great way around it :)

Ah that’s unfortunate, the reason I still log in and out of a single app instance is because of this. To preserve memory. Im sure there is a way to do it but it would require decompiling the other codex instances I think.

the memories aren't hashed so it should work.

Wonder what this might be useful for 🤔 Testing… yup… 👏🏽

🔥

thank you!

dude it's on fire. But would be great if it's claude lmao

coming

😁

J'ai fais ca pour tout les harness ! Faite attention avec vos configurations

Tyty 🫶 is multi API support also included?

sorry can you elaborate for me a bit

When you install codex you get an option to either log into codex with an account/plan or use an openai API key, so can I work with multiple keys?

that should work

What about remote ?

works fine.

Working on getting shared session history and/or shared memory integrated. Will push soon.

Love this

enjoy

OOOOOH nice

you made this sir?

Yes but I didnt invent the method to install more than 1.

you invented the method you made to piece it together ;P

hey, this is great, what if I use a project that relies on the logged in open AI token to plug into an automated system, how are the different authentication tokens managed by your multi-app system?

test it out and lmk :)

Nice work! Would love for them to all share the same session history.

i wonder.

I might take a stab. Thanks for making it open source!

sessions are encrypted per account. memories might work

I use paseo for it. 1 codex app on macbook, while paseo is installed on macmini for 2nd codex and i have browser on macbook that is the ADE for paseo

Just ask codex to set up multiple parallel codex and Codex apps—one for profile. Great unlock but a bit confusing at first to not see all those past sessions anymore.

This will not give you independent plugins, unfortunately.

Absolutely true. Noticed that too. It will also restart “the app” (as it is effectively only one app) at the same time

i am adding a toggle to let you see all your old sessions, and even memories if you want. pushing in 5

KING!

Only my runs on 256GB Mac Studios? 😭

Yeah but you got to watch your disc space for sure

Yeah codex is taking up 95gigs on my man rn

I recently setup two accounts in t3code but this is cool for codex. They should make it official

How do we get this for iOS?

🫠

That’s cool. I’m always confused of people using examples that involve home and work tasks. Am I crazy to separate the two??

Good project. But, My 16gb ram barely handles even a single codex.

@PaulSolt Nice! Will definitely try this!

Wow is there one for claude as well ? 😍

Yes but its kinda screwed up. I will fix it.

ARPU must be crazy if they're expecting broad adoption of people running enough $500 subscriptions in parallel to warrant this.

It's more for peopel who have enterprise accounts at work and personal tokens too or if you have multiple $500 accounts yeah people like @doodlestein

@doodlestein I guess if you have a work account and personal account on the same computer. I don’t know too many people who don’t separate work hardware from personal though.

good stuff 🔥

Can u do this with Claude?

Yes you can. But plugins are annoying so you will wanna build a helper like I did for Codex so when you login to a plugin's oauth, it routes to the right Claude app. Just point your clanker at my repo, and this one, and ask it to install it and build such a helper.
