Thanks for the video! My neighborhood. What was amazing were the people who cleared the road that morning. I'm surprised I could get out. We just got power early today. Wild storm. Grateful everyone is safe.

I'm currently without grid power (running on solar) in Pennsylvania where thunderstorms last night ripped through the area. There was almost a shockwave like impact when they first arrived. 1" of rain in ~20 minutes, lightning strikes over the area and tons of cloud to cloud discharges. This is the biggest tree I found that came down, directly on a large sweep of lines. Power is expected to be restored Tuesday or Wednesday... Tens of thousands are without power. There are localized zones where huge trees came down, thick healthy branches twisted and ripped off, and power lines are down all over. Four BIG trees down just in the 2 blocks around where I am clearly in a rough alignment, almost like a mini tornado swept through... This morning I did an extensive survey of the area, some areas were unaffected, others look like war zones. I'll do my best to release an update on this but the solar system i'm running off of is limited in capability.

This is Erwin, TN. A small town in East Tennessee just on the other side of the mountains from Asheville, NC. Countless families have lost everything, and this is only one city. My entire region is completely destroyed. I have created a GoFundMe to try to raise funds for my area as the vast majority of East Tennessee has no ability to recover from this (link in replies). You can see in the photo that travel to and from these areas is completely blocked off, with most of our interstates being demolished, with most bridges being collapsed.

Yesterday I pulled a sleeping bag & blanket out of the mud. Two other sleeping bags are still stuck in the mud in just a 20 yard area. This location was home to a large encampment along Pittsburgh's Ohio River removed last fall and the damage to our rivers is often significant.

Flew home out of Asheville today. Wanted to visit an area impacted from Helene. I know there are many spots still recovering that were severely damaged. This is from Biltmore. Most the city looked wonderful and back in business. This video represents a small area. But for me it was shocking. To see the unbelievable power of water. How high the water came up. And damages today like they just happened yesterday. In the video I said unbelievable a lot. That was my honest reaction.
