In the first zone, the practice is played as a 5v4 and within an area 16(L) x 28(W) Yards. The players are deliberately positioned to replicate: ▪️ Two centre backs on the end line (They can step in) ▪️ Two inverted wide players ▪️ One central pivot ▪️ Two mini goals representing players between the lines AKA number 10 positions. The top zone is then played as a 1v1. The practice is designed to recreate central overloads when Liverpool have controlled possession in the opposition half, that's why it is setup in that part of the pitch, again deliberately so. The 1v1 represents a potential moment when an opposition centre back steps forward to track a player receiving between the lines, and spaces appear to run into. This creates an important decision for the team in possession. After completing a set number of passes, can they: ⚽ Play into a mini goal (10 positions between lines), for one point?
