He does, but proportional representation is a much better reflection of a democracy and I prefer our parliament is filled with politicians that represent the people than sustaining the current ping pong status quo between Conservatives and Labour

First past the post is the reason we’ve been dominated over history by conservatives, it’s why a government can run roughshod over the electorate for 5 years with 40% of the vote and 60% of the seats. It will give voice to extremes but overall it’s much more representative

@ItRecks Funny, because many advocate change when it’s within their interest. But this is one of many issues with a legacy system that needs looking into as a bundle. 1. Expenses 2. Subsidies 3. Deceleration of gifts 4. Disciplinary 5. Fact checked truth and honesty 6. House of Lords

I agree the UK does need proportional representation, first past the post is no longer fit for purpose. To me that would mean accepting people like Farage in parliament but would also give more Greens & Independents etc. But would be representative of UK populations politics.

It would mean Farage getting a small group in parliament but it would've a small price to pay for a fair electoral system. Anyway I have always believed that the best disinfectant is daylight.

In left-wing ideology, the only allowable explanation for that lack of proportional representation is racism. What is always left out is the skills gap. You cannot engineer racial proportionality without a radical sacrifice of talent and skills. We can do everything we can to close the academic skills gap, but we should not paper it over in favor of racial preferences.
