The DSC are being constructed by TRSL under the IRS and Naval rules, with a Catamaran-Hull form and displacement in range of 300 to 400 Tons. I began my working trip to the Odesa region by holding a coordination meeting with the Command of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, focused on security issues in the southern region. Primary attention was given to countering constant Russian air attacks with “shaheds” and missiles, as well as readiness to respond to threats at sea. We also addressed our deep-strike operations, strengthening communication systems, mine countermeasure capabilities, and training and equipping naval infantry. We discussed increasing the number of helicopters to enhance air defense in the region and counter drone threats. The military officials presented the technical strike capabilities of the Naval Forces: Neptune and Harpoon missile systems, new-generation unmanned systems and torpedoes. During the meeting, we identified what is still needed to further strengthen the combat capabilities of the Navy. I thank everyone working for the security and strength of the region.

The Chinese Research Vessel chose not to respond to our radio challenge, as they were focused on retrieving their deep-sea submersible, known as the SHENHAI YONGSHI or Deep-Sea Warrior. This vessel is designed for deep-sea exploration and scientific research, capable of diving to depths of 4,500 meters. Additionally, they deployed a Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) to recover a yellow unidentified piece of equipment, which could also be linked to marine scientific research activities. These actions by the CRV clearly indicate that the People's Republic of China is conducting unauthorized marine scientific research activities within the Philippines' Exclusive Economic Zone, lacking the necessary legal authority for such operations.
