That would send a stronger message than removing barricades which as you rightly said is just symbolic.

I absolutely agree. The Commonwealth is just another way of the British royal family to continue to relive, British Empire (British occupation as the rest of us, remember it) it’s very much a cozy sham where the British government medals in each and every country individually. How’s the head of the Commonwealth is always going to be a British royal, the Queen insisted it should be Charles after she passed! I don’t see that has been very Democratic! As a snake sheds its skin. This is the time for India to shed its links with the Commonwealth.

In India, no one knows about commonwealth except for games and medals. India has rejected the idea of commonwealth immediately after its independence. No idea why you are spending so much air time on this. If stayed or not there is no strategic implications , so why???

Time to rename the Victoria Memorial in Kolkata after Netaji, & move all the awful statues of 🇬🇧 Guvnor Generals & Viceroys to a separate hall & rename it the ‘Rogues Gallery’. The entire place shud be filled with statues of Indian freedom fighters. @MamataOfficial 🙏🏼🙏🏼

@voraciousvanraj PM had declared from Red Fort last year that india should get out of the colonial mindset .. coming out of commonwealth is the most significant and logical follow through action .

The day we realise that commonwealth is synonym to Ex-Slaves. That exact moment would turn out to be a good time.

There is no reason that we should hamper our IND-UK relation just because of those protestors. We have to keep in mind that UK is a P5 member state and India may need UK in the security council for other aspects.
