The TVK Government's approach towards the Centre, and the future of Centre-State relations after TVK Vijay became Chief Minister, has become a talking point following today's NITI Aayog meeting. My reading is that TVK Vijay is currently adopting a strategic wait-and-watch approach towards the Union government. It may be confrontational on policy based issues, but is unlikely to directly attack the BJP politically or speak against the RSS in the manner the #DMK traditionally does. Its like "Okay, as long as Tamil Nadu is getting what it needs, I am happy. What is happening in Bengal or Jharkhand is not really my concern." The anti-BJP sentiment in #Tamilnadu has largely watered down, while the BJP itself remains politically limited in the state. TVK seems to understand this reality. For now, the party may maintain a balanced approach. However, as the 2029 elections draw closer, the tone could become sharper on policy matters.
