I’ve been watching baseball for over 4 decades. “Don’t make the first or last out at 3rd base” has been drilled into my psyche. Certainly an actual @MLB player knows this as well. With 2 outs he would score on any hit. The “benefit” of a wild pitch or passed ball run is tiny.

You cannot try to take third when you have a piano on your back

Never make the 1st or 3rd out at 3rd base. Also, never try to leg out a triple when you are a catcher! He realized it was a bad idea once he rounded 2nd base. With that said, he figured every other Yankee made an out each at bat (aside from the 2BBs) tonight so he should too.
