Her imposing RMW impacted more people in the Philippines than a more typical eyewall would have, and it stirred the Philippine Sea into a violent and foaming frenzy that sent monstrous tidal swells careening into Luzon. However, that large RMW also prevented Fung-wong from fully taking advantage of the favorable oceanic environment she was swimming in.
