The tech is there...the tax law is NOT! This is the gating issue. No amount of improvement on the tech/UI side is likely to drive meaningful BTC transaction volume. Look at the G20...and 100% treat short terms gains in BTC as taxable....only Germany has tax free exemption if held over a year, but that does not a "currency" make.
