"What if I was wasting my time" - years later your kids will be dealing with the consequences of you "not wasting time." Statistically it's more likely they'll be doing that from prison (if dad's not in the picture - and so many women fight for that to be the case). If we had more people fighting to make a good home for their children instead of living their best life society would be a lot better than it is.
