No wayyy!! a solo dev with ZERO coding or game development experience built a playable 3D game in just 6 weeks using Opus 5.5 and Godot? The game combines Ragnarok Online with Monster Hunter, with custom characters, environments, 3D assets, VFX, and shaders. Opus 5.5 through Claude Code handles... show more

Love this. I went 2D: a full shoot 'em up with Opus 5.5 in about 11 hours over 3 days, 49 prompts from me. What made it fast was finishing one stage completely first. With that template, the other 4 stages took a day. Wrote up every step here:

Nice haha

I like the environments. Once I get into developing 3D games again, I'll need to check out these tools. I've never heard of Tripo before.

Wait fr? You’ve never heard of it before?

Nah, I’ve been a game designer and director of a team for a while, but I’m fairly new to this tech. I can definitely say these tools are the future for indies who aren’t rich enough to run their own studio.

Is it in steam slopfest?

Slop

Where’s yours?

did you made this?

No, I tagged the dev

We should tell AI haters this game made by humans. Then drop the news after a while.

That's a Banger NGL

Yeah fr it’s good

you build this

Nah

cooool! @afterthewinddev we spent not 6 weeks but interviewed opus 5.5 and deepseek v4.1 flash on how they see themselves

port this to mobile and it already looks ready for Google Play/App Store and monetization 👀

🤣🤣fr But

this is actual so cool

Yeah fr so cool

Just read the end of your message. I see why now, you're one of those berserker ai-coders out there leaving us in the dust... >.<

wild result. tip for anyone trying this in godot 4: if the AI spawns stuff inside a body_entered signal, use add_child.call_deferred() or you get "can't change this state while flushing queries". it parses fine, so the agent thinks it's done

ragnarok online with monster hunter fights would eat my whole weekend

6 weeks is wild, but 'zero experience' tends to age badly the moment the first physics bug shows up 😅 honestly the skill isn't the code anymore, it's knowing when the output is garbage

Looks amazing

Seems its got a bunch of us going! Cept im using grok.

here is patch today from a month of opus using an engine called bevy. its all built in rust. also used meshy while trying to keep everything opensource (i made games before ai though im cheating LOL)

I am doing something similar with grok bot and. Cursor agents

Yes, it is

It’s a great time for artists to make video games. AI can help handle the coding, but an artist’s personal style and creative vision are what truly make a game stand out in a sea of generic AI slop.

🤢🤮

this is really cool

Zero to Ragnarok-meets-Monster-Hunter in six weeks, shaders included, is a wild timeline. The breakdown I'd read is the shaders: did the model write them from a reference, or was it a long loop of "no, softer" until it looked right?

I'm one-manning my Web Environment studio, I spent about 5-days on the thing so far, it exported it's first test-world-environment, not nearly as detailed as yours, but the core of mine is the basic structure i need to build - in the long run - something like your world, I have no idea how you get your grasses like that, I was fascinated by the crude-little monster grass I just saw in my test world. When it's done, a chat-bot can go a world using the website slick as shit, next to zero logics time/work spent on it, feed the bot the game world, new world generated from scratch or built upon the existing one. I tried for like 3 weeks just to get GRASS like yours earlier this year, I didn't get any damn place at all. I'm fascinated by Opus' grasses.

So the game was made by a robot?

It turned out to be a beautiful project, keep it up.

A playable 3D game in six weeks from someone with no coding background is a big claim. What do you think was the hardest part for them to get right?

Damn this is cool.
