Q: When you say you want fair coverage, does that mean coverage that's more favorable to this president? Carr: Look, something has to change. Again, it's not just my perspective… If you're going to run a broadcast media operation, the FCC and congress, frankly, have decided you need to operate in the public interest. That's one of the things we're pushing for, how do we reempower these broadcasters who serve the interests of their local communities? So much of this now is driven by the national programmers whether ABC, CBS is or NBC.. One of the things we’re trying to do at the FCC is how do we empower local, constrain the power of these national programmers so broadcasters can actually serve their local communities.
