Humanoid robot convenience stores are becoming a part of people's lives. A couple of days ago, I passed by the Zhangjiang AI Town in Shanghai. At the GalBOT "Space Capsule," I bought a bottle of Coca-Cola from a convenience store operated by a humanoid robot. It was smoother than I expected: screen selection, QR code payment, and the humanoid robot G1 retrieving and delivering the goods – all in one seamless process. It's worth noting that a human worker was still present inside, handling emergency situations. However, it can't yet take orders through speech, but this will change soon. People will be able to shop by naturally conversing with G1, paying with palm or facial recognition (e.g., Alipay), and the humanoid robot will autonomously fulfill orders without ever getting tired, always full of enthusiasm and patience. It is expected that convenience stores operated by humanoid robots will soon appear in the core areas and tourist zones of many Chinese cities this year, with companies like GalBOT, Astribot, and AI² Robotics deploying them in large numbers. Its value goes beyond simply achieving intelligent automation in retail; it's becoming an integral part of people's future technological lives.

This video shows its crash just meters before the finish line where it had to be picked up by a team of humans. The robot is from Honor, the smartphone maker and Huawei spin-off. This robot was teleoperated while others were autonomous. It seems like all the robots had battery swaps along the way.

You might have seen the WuBOT performing at the 2026 Spring Festival Gala; however, most high-dynamic extreme motions you see are executed by overfitted tracking policies. Until now, training a unified policy capable of performing various extreme motions with a high success rate remained an unsolved challenge. We spent an entire year digging into the barrier between general tracking and extreme physical behaviors. After burning through dozens of G1 robots, we finally identified the bottleneck of learning and physical executability. With these discoveries, we developed OmniXtreme: the first general policy that can execute diverse extreme motions, including consecutive flips, extreme balancing, and even breakdancing with rapid contact switches! This capability is achieved by pre-training a flow-based generative control policy and then post-training with actuation-aware residual RL for complex physical dynamics—a step we found critical for successful real-world transfer. This work is a joint collaboration with Unitree. Together, we are pushing the physical limits of humanoid robots. It is incredibly exciting to see a general "robot gymnast" and "robot breakdancer" come to life! It was also our first time publishing a paper with XingXing, which was an enlightening experience. It can autonomously complete packing tasks such as scanning barcodes, removing boxes, and affixing labels, working with both hands. In the future, it will solve the problem of handling complex and scattered express packaging that currently requires a large amount of manpower. Of course, it is still a bit slow, and its efficiency needs improvement. This humanoid robot is 1.65 meters tall and weighs 88 kg. With its height-adjustable body and flexible wheeled movement, it is also suitable for service scenarios such as indoor inspections in factories and office buildings, and serving as a showroom guide.

Edward Warchocki, Poland's viral humanoid robot, showed up at an apiary in full beekeeper gear - hat, veil, gloves - and the footage that followed turned into one of the funniest robot clips online this year. It stumbled through the grass, knocked into a hive, nearly toppled over more than once, and at one point appeared to make a run for it, clearly done with the bees, before its handler caught it and walked it back in. Humanoid robots are being trained for warehouses and battlefields. This one just proved they still can't out-maneuver an actual insect
