Another win for open-source robotics! 🔥 Hugging Face just released a fully open-source humanoid robot, and you can build one for $2,500. I'm a huge advocate of open-source in robotics space. Why? Robotics is too hard to solve alone. So lowering the entry point is crucial. Also, ROS proved open ecosystems create lasting industry standards. So let's have a look at the new member of humanoids family! LeRobot Humanoid is a 3D-printed, bipedal humanoid platform designed for real robot learning experiments. It's a complete and, buildable robot Anddddd yes, it's a full stack release: → Hardware files, bill of materials and full assembly documentation → Simulation assets and training environments → Runtime tools for calibration and real-world control → Sim-to-real identification pipeline When a part breaks, reprint it. This robot assistant from the NVIDIA CES Keynote on Monday is going viral. Nader Khalil🍊 explains all the hottest emerging AI trends in one demo: AI applications in 2026 will be multi-model, multi-modal, hybrid cloud/local, use open source models as well as proprietary models, control robots and embedded devices in the physical world, and have voice interfaces. (And the demo had a cute robot *and* a cute dog. Gold.) The demo was built with Pipecat AI. NVIDIA posted a really nice technical walk-through and complete code. The Reachy Mini robot from Hugging Face is open source hardware. (You can order it now, I have one!). You can run the assistant locally on your own hardware, in the cloud, or both.

🏆 1st place, Open Source Lenslist AR as an interface for robot navigation. Give move-to commands using hands or voice and the robot moves there autonomously. Works in a variety of environments and conditions. Stock firmware on the Unitree dog. Dimensional powers the entire navigation stack with dynamic pathing and LiDAR streaming. UI and interactions on SPECS AR Glasses. I’m already working on v2.0 with VPS support (MultiSet AI) to reduce drift on longer distances (>5m) and cleaner DimOS integration. Gotta say, making this is a bit of a rollercoaster as it’s genuinely hard but also I just want it to exist and seeing it work is the most cool and rewarding thing ever. Repo:

Decades of hardware development led to strong, fast, and precise robot arms. The moment we can put in general intelligence in these things, we can leverage the full spectra of capabilities that they were always meant to capture. We’re betting on a future where robot hardware will continue to improve, and we intend to build the best models on top of the best hardware to push the frontier of capabilities and reliability. Here’s an old video from TossingBot that I think helps make this point extra clear. Industrial-grade repeatability started out as a crutch for dumb software -- but if you pair it with the right AI models, then it becomes an advantage that is superhuman. There are factories where the same UR robot arms are still being used to precisely and repeatably build the same car parts, operating for 10 yrs straight without a single failure or shutdown. Humanoids will get there too (among other form factors). Not yet today, but eventually. And our models will be ready to meet them when they do.

This feels like the closet any company has come to having an actual, intelligent robot in the home. Matic Robots was already the best smart vacuum I've ever owned. But now being able to talk to it like a human, give it instructions via voice and physical gestures, and have it contribute real work to the household, it feels like we're actually getting a glimpse of what intelligence in the home will really feel like. Pretty cool. (not an investor, just a fan)

This is not about appearance. It’s about giving robots real tactile sensing and pressure feedback. According to the company, the system includes tactile gloves, upper-body skin, and foot sensors. That means the robot can feel contact through its hands, detect pressure across its body, and use foot feedback to adjust balance. This is the missing layer in most humanoids. Vision alone can’t handle physical interaction. Robots need touch to grip safely, react to humans, and stay stable in real-world environments. Most robotics teams can make a robot move… very few can make it work every day in the real world! @roboforce_inc was just featured in Jensen Huang’s GTC keynote, not for a demo but for a robot they claim is already working in the field. Their system, TITAN, is built for industrial environments: ✅ 40 kg dual-arm payload ✅ millimeter-level precision ✅ 8 hours runtime ✅ early pilots in energy, logistics, and manufacturing They call it Physical AI: The focus is on getting robots to do the kind of labor that still depends on people: repetitive, risky, and physical. IMO, what stands out isn’t the specs. It’s the claim of 11,000 robot orders❗️ If even a fraction of that turns into real deployments, it would make RoboForce one of the most widely scaled robot platforms in the world!!?? The open question is whether this shift from prototype to production is real or just the next phase of robotics storytelling. It looks very promising to me. It’s also interesting how their founder openly pushes back against the humanoid trend, arguing for wheels over legs in real industrial settings. It’s an unusual perspective in a time when humanoids get most of the attention. If they are right, the next humanoid robotics wave might look less like a human and more like an industrial version.
