was thinking the same thing. homes in that general area are about $1.5M for a fairly normal home. three of those apparently equal a home previously owned by the getty family.

it's kind of pastiche McMansion; it mixes architectural motifs from, if I'm not mistaken, Venetian villas (the treatment of the windows), rustic Italian countryside estates (the view upon walking up), and, like, a school for some reason because of the Corinthian columns everywhere; the interior spaces are oddly shaped and hallways are narrow as a result compare it to Morgan homes in the same area like people were saying, they're much more clearly designed to be lived in

calling it a mcmansion seems a bit much. the architect is Bernard Maybeck, who also designed the palace of fine arts in san francisco.
