We bought a spec home that was already built and the builder had hexagonal tile in 2 bathrooms. It’s clear the installer didn’t use spacers. Builder refused to fix saying “well hexagonal tile is difficult to lay.”

So, if I have a new house built. I will be hiring Mary for all my tile work. Yes it may cost more, but at least I know I will get a better job with her then these other idiots.

What are your thoughts on rounding over solid color body tiles? Sometimes I do that when schluter isn't desired and there's no bullnose option/ solution. I prefer not to miter outside corners because those can chip way too easily. This tub deck has rounded over corners (done on site by hand) but the body of the tile is the same color as surface so it looks nice.

This looks fine to me, with these tiles I posted it’s a totally different scenario and omg now it’s just not possible

We have the art deco tile bathroom in our house bright yellow & seafoam green colors. Been here since the 60's or 70's, all perfect lines and corners. It was a very popular thing in Florida back then. It's about half our bathroom, and still perfect condition. We love it.

Brah, around here all the real trades men and women who take pride in the work they do have been replaced by foreigners that do the job for less… I’ve seen 7/8ths gaps between the bird mouth notch and top plate of a wall … but they frame for 3 bucks a foot… lol
