The first step towards meaningful engagement is acknowledging that the other side has a point of view worth hearing. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat ji’s remarks on Gen Z are a thoughtful beginning. “Their grievance is genuine.” He also makes an important distinction: in a democracy, protest is a legitimate means to build consensus when dialogue fails, but it must aim to resolve differences, not deepen divisions. Recognising genuine concerns while reaffirming the value of dialogue is the hallmark of a confident democracy. If this becomes the starting point for engaging with Gen Z, it is a welcome and constructive step.

Every year, our culmination event is held in August, between August 1 and August 15.
