After Śrī Krishna defeated the demon Aristasura, who had taken the form of a bull, Śrī Radha instructed him to perform the last rites for the bull and then take a ritual snan in the sacred waters of Radha Kunda . Krishna then struck the ground and summoned all holy rivers to appear there, forming Shyama Kunda. In response, Śrī Rādhārāṇī and her companions dug a pond with their bangles, and the holy rivers filled it. That pond became Radha Kunda.
