On the 28th of July we distributed 8,000 liters to Nakhil camp in Zawayde and 8,000 liters to Asqalan camp in Western Deir El Balah. Our water distributions decreased from 300,000 liters across the Gaza Strip to around 200,000 liters per day, donate: The lack of funds means we are having to constantly reduce our distributions. Lowering our distributions is not aligned with a decrease in need. On the contrary, the need in Gaza today is huge in terms of food, water, medical support, tents and more. We didn’t stop, we won’t stop! Our daily water distributions in the Central area continue. We distributed 24,000 liters of fresh water yesterday, July 26th. Donate: 8,000 liters to Asqalan camp, 8,000 liters to Karama camp and 8,000 liters to Masdar camp. All these camps are in Deir El Balah. Thanks to your support we’ve been able to increase our 16,000 liters to 24,000 liters multiple times a week providing these overcrowded camps with much needed hydration. There are 57,000 orphans in Gaza due to the ongoing genocide. That is 57,000 children who lost one or both parents. Most Palestinians in Gaza don’t have income help here: let alone vulnerable groups like these orphans who don’t have anyone to provide for them. The reliance for survival is on community kitchens and mutual aid distributions. On October 21st, the Sameer Project distributed 210 rice meals feeding around 500 people in Al Ribat Camp in Khan Younis. With 11% commission, the total cost was $922 so around $4.40 per meal. It is our role as mutual aid groups and the international community supporting Gaza to do what we can in making it possible. Our decisions with aid distributions are made with that aim in mind, support: Water is life and without water, certain areas in the Gaza are unlivable. So with the drop in donations, the Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine)) x Sameer Project decided to focus our water campaign to the areas in the far North like Jabalia and Beit Lahia, as well as Tuffah and Zaytoun daily. This will encourage the residents of those areas to come back and for those already there to stay. Our water campaign is an integral part of our work at the Sameer Project. From June 2024 till today, not a day has passed without us distributing water. We would like to increase our water distributions even more but for that we need your help. Walking barefoot in high temperatures causes burns and infections in children’s feet. Shoes distributions are an important part of the Sameer Project initiatives, donate: Small steps (Small Steps Project) funded shoe distributions in the past and we recently collaborated on a new distribution. We got 60 pairs trainers for $21 a pair with 10% commission so the total was $1,260. The Sameer Project distributed these shoes to children in the Sadaqa camp (translates to friendship) in Deir El Balah. We are looking to do more shoe distributions during this tough time. Donate here: A few weeks ago, we got vegetables from farms but the supply was way lower than the demand, and now vegetable stews are not easy to find. Most available stews are lentils, pasta, bulgur and rice. We work closely with kitchens to ensure that the food uses oil, spices and sufficient quantities. This distribution included 15 pots of spaghetti each costing $402. With 3% commission, the total was $6,211. We hope that the aid comes in with at least 600 trucks a day consistently for people to get the nourishment they deserve.
