If you are in this country illegally, you have broken federal law. And it is the responsibility of the federal government to enforce that law, to remove you and return you to your country of origin. When leaders in blue states refuse to comply with federal authorities, they are not “resisting,” they are breaking the law themselves. You don’t get to attack law enforcement just because you don’t like the outcome of an election. If you disagree with policy, you win the next election. That’s how a constitutional republic works.

Meanwhile the Law Library, Ireland’s professional association for barristers, is currently promoting the books ‘Trans Like Me’ and ‘Life Isn’t Binary’ to its members. According to these books: • It is a ‘toxic myth’ that there are only two genders • The binary conception of gender ‘has been a vital feature in the history of patriarchal oppression’ • Transgenderism should be enshrined in law • People should use transgender pronouns (i.e. they/them) • Transgender criminals should be housed in the prison of their choice • Puberty blockers are a ‘God-send’ and should be made available to children • The notion of good or bad and right or wrong is a limited way of thinking we need to move beyond. The Supreme Court in Loper Bright overturned the Chevron Doctrine, which means that agencies like the EPA can no longer creatively give themselves powers that aren’t clearly granted in statute. When a Casey for Senate attorney misconstrued the law and argued to the Lancaster County Board of Elections that we could somehow overrule the PA Supreme Court, I told her it was shocking and troubling. Then our Board voted unanimously and in bipartisan fashion to dismiss her challenges and uphold the law. Now we find out some counties listened to these kind of crazy arguments and knowingly broke the law! Glad the PA Supreme Court has stepped in (again) - but they should not have to. Election Boards must follow the law.
