The most obvious solution would be to not let repeat offenders out of jail right away after every crime they commit. We have to wait until something like this happens before we finally detain them.

I totally agree with that.

Nothing will most likely be done…..to do so might interfere with someone’s chances of getting re-elected, not to mention that NY is a hug-a-thug city and state.

I guess the obvious solution of putting cops on every train isn't even part of the discussion. Good to know.

It's never a fair equivalent when an innocent person loses their life due to the actions of an emotionally disturbed person. Our politicians & activists will demand more resources, the Perp will be locked up, but the victim will never make it home to their family.

To the liberals and Kathy Hochul’s policies, you are expendable. Your life means nothing.

The reporting doesn’t seem to match the video. I don’t see anybody running down the stairs or chasing him across the street. New York is wild. That poor man who never made it home! :-(

P.S. You can see people following him along the crosswalk, in the background, in this video.

Yes, thank you. Well, that restores some faith in humanity. But what a grim reality for New Yorkers just trying to get home at the end of a long day!

NYC Subway Passenger Fatally Stabbed During Rush Hour NEW YORK — On September 30, 2026, at approximately 5:20 p.m., a 59-year-old Queens man was fatally stabbed aboard a J train near the Woodhaven Boulevard station, according to the New York City Police Department. Police identified the victim as Mesias Lojano. Authorities said he sustained multiple stab wounds to his chest and neck. He was taken by emergency medical personnel to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators identified the suspect as 25-year-old Jyrell Thomas of the Bronx. Police said Thomas left the station after the stabbing and was pursued by passengers and witnesses. Officers later located him on the roof of a nearby garage and arrested him. A knife was recovered, according to police. Thomas faces charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Police said the stabbing was unprovoked and that Lojano and Thomas did not know each other. Earlier accounts characterized the incident as involving an argument, but subsequent police information indicated there had been no prior interaction between the men. Criminal History: Authorities said Thomas had been arrested in the Bronx earlier in September 2026. According to reports citing police and court records, that case involved allegations that he took approximately $23 worth of merchandise from a Target store. He was reportedly charged with petit larceny, obstruction of governmental administration and criminal possession of stolen property. #police #cops #crime #Policia #polizei #CrimeNews
