I don’t recall ever being informed that the NIH had lifted the 2014 gain-of-function moratorium. Bureaucratic government agencies should not be shielded (as they currently are) from everyday accountability. Perhaps Congress should quit passing intentionally broad laws that allow unelected specialists to fill in the details.
