I can't see a reason why not... If their status makes them resident... even temporarily... better they work for their keep than get conditioned into a culture of dependancy. Cheaper for us for starters... and they then pay tax too. Where is the downside here?

@GoldingBF Why shouldn’t they? Then they’d work and pay taxes, contributing to the public purse, which in turn leads to better funded public services. We’d also not be paying for accommodation or giving Rwanda anymore money for nothing. Just something to consider 🤔 🔥🇬🇧🔥

What’s striking is that Lynch explicitly contrasts managerial politics with politics that has a mission. And that’s why Andy Burnham is attracting so much attention.
