The Battle of Kadesh and the resulting first known peace treaty between two major powers are significant historical events that shaped the ancient Near East. Taking place in 1275-74 BC, the battle was a large-scale conflict between the Egyptian Empire, under Pharaoh Ramesses II, and the Hittite Empire, led by King Muwatalli II. It took place near the city of Kadesh, located in modern-day Syria, and is one of the earliest battles in recorded history for which detailed records exist. This confrontation is remarkable not only for its military scale but also for the diplomacy that followed. The Egyptian and Hittite empires were two of the most powerful states in the ancient world during 13th Century BC. Egypt dominated the southern regions, including Nubia, and held significant influence in Canaan (modern Israel/Palestine). The Hittites, based in Anatolia (modern Turkey), were expanding their influence into northern Syria. The city of Kadesh, located near the Orontes River, was of strategic importance because it sat at the crossroads of trade routes and was close to the border between Hittite and Egyptian-controlled territory. The Egyptians had lost Kadesh to the Hittites years earlier, and Ramesses II, known for his military prowess, was eager to recapture it. The battle that unfolded there was an effort to reassert Egypt’s dominance in the region and check Hittite expansion. Ramesses II led his army, divided into four divisions named after Egyptian gods—Amun, Ra, Ptah, and Seth. His strategy was to march northward swiftly and surprise the Hittites. However, the Egyptians had underestimated the strength and readiness of the Hittite forces. The Hittites, under King Muwatalli II, had amassed a large force that included 37,000 infantry and 3500 chariots. Both sides used intelligence and espionage to prepare for the battle, but the Egyptians were misled by Hittite spies who reported that the Hittite army was far away. This false information caused Ramesses to march hastily and split his forces, with the divisions moving in staggered columns. The battle began disastrously for the Egyptians when the Hittites launched a surprise attack on Ramesses’ Ra division, which was moving toward Kadesh. The Hittite chariots, faster and more maneuverable, overwhelmed the Egyptian forces, pushing them back and creating chaos. Ramesses, who was with the Amun division ahead of the Ra division, found himself isolated and vulnerable. It’s taken us about 7 weeks but Sir Anthony Hopkins is back looking his absolute best again and as healthy as can be. I’ll never forget the struggle to catch him and his red raw skin. The poor boy was in absolute agony… 💊 His skin is fully healed up and his courses of various medicines finished ✂️ Anthony has been sterilized and had all his jabs 🌴 He is living in a restaurant where he has 3 different people looking out for him now and he is allowed to sleep in the courtyard where its covered and safe 👩‍⚕️ His private doctor Sybille works right beside him in the daytime and checks in on him with treats and his health 🚗 There are no fast passing cars as he lives in a tourist area. 🥘 It’s an area where he is very spoilt for food He loves his little spot and part of the struggle catching him was because he didn’t want to be taken away. Anthony had fallen on hard times as proper medical care is hard to come by for street dogs. I think you’ll agree he looks fantastic. He lives right beside Shaq and Stich so I’m looking forward to going and seeing them all on little visits.

A shocking incident came to light where a principal of the PG College in Kollapur town of Nagarkurnool district, in Telangana, allegedly attempted to sexually assault a student who had come to collect his transfer certificate, and in the process, the student bit the man’s genitals to escape. According to reports, the student, a resident of Jagityal district, completed his MBA from the PG College affiliated to the Palamuru University in 2025. He had come to the college two days ago to collect his TC for higher studies. He met the Principal, Dr. Marke Poloneyes, for the document. The student alleged that the principal tried to force him and harassed him mentally and physically, demanding "unnatural sexual acts". On the night of July 7, the principal allegedly called the student to his room and forced him to undress. To protect himself, the student resisted and, in self-defense, bit the principal’s private parts. The principal suffered bleeding and started screaming in pain. Hearing the commotion, students rushed to the room and found the principal in a naked state. The principal panicked and reportedly hid in the bathroom and later fled from the college. Though it is not clear whether he called him home or to his room is yet to be verified.
