You can just make iPhone widgets that do one thing. That's exactly what sam and I did for one year, and now doing for a new app we dropped called Lyrics. It's a "widget first" app that does just one thing — shows you lyrics from your favorite musician. The widget first approach actually makes things wayyy less complicated, and gives you the most valuable real estate on a person's phone — their home screen.

Andrej Karpathy on autoresearch with an untrusted pool of workers: "My designs that incorporate an untrusted pool of workers (into autoresearch) actually look a little bit like a blockchain. Instead of blocks, you have commits, and these commits can build on each other and contain changes to the code as you're improving it. The proof of work is basically doing tons of experimentation to find the commits that work." The idea that distributed & permissionless autoresearch ~= proof-of-useful-work remains a high-level intuition for now, but it is extremely intriguing to say the least. Someone needs to take this further. See QT for more on what's missing.

Finally. Claude just merged Chat and Cowork into a single Home tab, and this is the one I've been wanting since Cowork launched. Before this, you had to pick a lane before you even opened a conversation: Chat if you just wanted to talk, Cowork if you needed Claude to read your files and get to work. Now it's one tab, and you just start typing. That's not even the best part of this update. You can now turn any conversation into a Skill, or schedule it to run on its own, every Monday at 9am, no touching it again. If you're on a Team account, it goes further: - Projects are now shared org-wide now. Including Cowork projects, which used to be stuck on one person's laptop. Client files, proposals, timelines, estimates, all in one shared workspace. Skills, connectors, and plugins share across the org too. Artifacts got real sharing. Import from a link, share internally (used to be local-only), grab a share link, pop it out into its own window. But when you’ve prepared and not “cheated the preparation process” you know, you know you can trade on that preparation and become a Champion.
