Whew! This was heavy and refreshing.

Yes it is. Taking accountability for what you caused in your child's life. Saying sorry, providing space for healing and not denigrating your child to others as if they've done something wrong? That's amazing! Good for her. Hope they are able to reconcile at some point.

This is powerful. It takes an extreme amount of maturity from a mother to honor the space her child wants while they recover. This is beautiful.

I have gone no contact with my mother about 11 years ago. I never trusted her, always felt like she was a strange female competitor to me and not a mother. Add some covert narcissism and you get it. This woman here has more self awareness than 4 generations of my family. Kudos.

I read something on IG last week that said, "give your children a childhood they don't have to recover or heal from." A word.

Good for her for recognizing her oldest requires space and honoring his feelings. Takes a lot of maturity to be accountable for your behavior with your children. I pray they're able to mend fences one day
