Ibuprofen is not banned, ffs, and it also doesn’t only work like this. Both these drugs are safe and effective and work in far more complex ways than this. Stop getting medical information from social media.

In addition to this Paracetamol is mostly processed by the liver, while ibuprofen is partly processed by the liver and then by the kidneys, making ibuprofen risker for people with only one kidney or kidney issues

A few years back in had a really bad broken arm, metal rods inserted to fix it and a plaster cast. Paracetamol acted really quickly to ease the pain. Ibuprofen was slower to work but reduced the swelling to ease pain caused by squeezing in the cast. Thought it was a great combo.

Would you rather only be allowed to take paracetamol for the rest of your life, or only ibuprofen?

Ibuprofen is the goat. Paracetamol has never gotten rid of a headache for me. The day I first took Nurofen was a blessing, I had no idea such magic existed.

Paracetamol (Acetaminophen in the US) will kill your liver over a fairly short time period.

Los dos son para la fiebre y el dolor PERO sólo el I-buprofeno es para la I-nflamación (muelas, golpes, garganta…). Así los distingo yo, pnemotecnia. 😎

Both are very usefull but can be very dangerous: - overdosing paracétamol will give you a liver failure - ibuprofene stop inflammation even when it's necessary, so during an infection it can be deadly, ie: killing your kidney

Do remember that ibuprofen (NSAIDs in general) works by blocking COX enzymes from synthesizing prostaglandins (chemical messenger that trigger pain), but this chemical also useful for stomach lining, kidney function, thrombocytes, etc. So long term use of it may affect them

Should also add that if you're on blood thinners it's recommended you dont take ibuprofen or anti-inflammatories of any kind.

Also know that paracetamol fu@$s up your liver and ibuprofen does your stomach and gut lining, plus ibuprofen does indeed lower inflamation - which is your natural way of dealing with a disease/problem. Your body is inflaming the problem, and you stop it doing what it should do.
