Mr Herbert Wigwe di€d in a helicopter accid€nt alongside his wife and eldest son earlier last year. He was the former CEO of Access Bank and one of Nigeria's most notable billionaires. Few days ago, Mr Herbert's 90 years old dad began a legal battle with his grand daughter, which is (Herbert's daughter) in court over his property. Although the court has ruled it away, Grandpa has refused to give up.. read full details 👇

The site of the helicopter crash.

This three passed away in the crash. Which occurred on the 9th of Feb,2024. Herbert Wigwe, his wife chizoba wigwe and his 29 yrs old son Chizi Wigwe.

His remaining surviving children are: - Tochi Wigwe - David Wigwe - Hannah Wigwe (This image is from the funeral in 2024) they are a year older now.

A year after Mr Herberts passed away, His dad and former Director-General of @NTAnewsnow "Pastor Shyngle Wigwe" in recent news has dragged her granddaughter, 26 yrs old "tochi wigwe" to court over his late son's property. Which has caused uproar on the media.

Reports indicate that Pastor Shyngle Wigwe, along with Chukwuka Wigwe (claiming to be a cousin), approached the court to request the distributions of Herbert Wigwe’s assets and take them away from tochi wigwe, the eldest surviving daughter of Herbert Wigwe.. Amongst his assets includes his estate.. The estate likely includes a mix of assets such as real estate, shares in Access Holdings Plc, and potentially other investments tied to Wigwe’s extensive business ventures, including "Wigwe University".

One notable asset often associated with Herbert Wigwe is his multi-billion-naira private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos state. The Luxury homes in Ikoyi can range from ₦500 million to over ₦10 billion ($300,000 to $6 million+ USD at current rates). Given Wigwe’s status, his residence is likely at the higher end—potentially valued between ₦5 billion and ₦10 billion ($3 million to $6 million) or more, factoring in its reported "multi-billion-naira" status.

Incase you didnt know, Herbert Wigwe’s Net Worth approximately ₦65 billion at the time). This figure encompasses his stakes in Access Bank/Access Holdings, real estate, and other ventures.

Anyway, the court dismissed Pastor Shyngle Wigwe application on February 6, 2025, The court ruled that the claimants were "not entitled to seek the reliefs" they requested, effectively denying their bid to take control of the estate’s management protecting Tochi wigwe and her siblings’ interests for now. So technically, tochi and and Herbert Wigwe’s surviving children were favored in the significant ruling. Although, the case is still ongoing because Pastor Shyngle took the rulling to the court of appeal... so, with an appeal in progress, no definitive winner has been declared regarding the case. However, we will keep you up-to-date.
