Unpacking OCM Genesis on Bitcoin: A Guide. OCM Genesis is upgrading from Ethereum to Bitcoin this month. I put together this guide to help everyone understand what OCM Genesis holders on Ethereum will get when they upgrade to Bitcoin (Hint: it's A LOT!) 👇👇👇 Before diving in, a reminder that everything you will see in this guide is happening 100% on-chain on #Bitcoin. I've also included a video demonstration of the features! By the end of this guide, it will be clear why this is being called an UPGRADE and not simply a migration! Chapter 1: Viewing Your OCM on Bitcoin To view your OCM Genesis on Bitcoin, navigate to and replace the 09017 with the ID number for your OCM. My OCM is #9017. Chapter 2: Your Sat Page A sat is a small piece of Bitcoin. When you upgrade, you will own the sat identified on your sat page, along with all of the inscriptions on it. The sats your OCM Genesis is inscribed on are significant: Your sat is on Block 9. This is the earliest Bitcoin block in circulation. Your sat is on sat range 450x. Block 9 includes sat 450x through 499x. Sat 450x represents the lowest numbered bitcoin in circulation. Only 2% of Block 9 sats are in sat range 450x. Your sat offset is 178-XXXXX, where XXXXX is the ID number for your OCM. All OCM Genesis were inscribed on sequentially numbered sats, on this specific sat range. 450-178-XXXXX is a good way to remember where your OCM lives. Chapter 3: One Sat, Four Inscriptions At the bottom of the page for your sat you will see several inscriptions: 1. OCM Genesis: Perspectives 2. OCM Genesis: 20219 3. OCM Genesis: Deconstructed (AKA: Objects, Code, Motion) 4*. OCM Genesis: Certificate of Ownership *This will be inscribed onto your sat during your upgrade process. Today marks 2 Years of OCM Join us as we celebrate Two Years of Innovation Through Art and Technology 🔽 Since 2021 we’ve been building a conglomerate of the greatest minds in web3 and delivering the most innovative, most significant digital assets. Let's take a moment to delve into our remarkable journey, which started with a groundbreaking idea for digital assets. In Spring of 2021, we set out to build upon NFT technologies to align communities around causes and to make a positive impact in the world. To achieve our vision, we created the unique and innovative digital asset, OnChainMonkey® Genesis. This was a first of a kind on-chain generative art collection. Beautifully engineered by code, we designed the distribution of this collection to be both captivating and engaging for collectors. The art involved the extreme minimization of our on-chain footprint so that the entire collection could be created and launched in a single transaction! On September 11, 2021, we introduced the world to the OCM Genesis. It was a momentous day as 10,000 Monkeys came to life on-chain. They were a free mint, offered without any hype, without even a Twitter account or Discord server, and quickly claimed by a newly formed community. This historic day marked the beginning of our incredible journey. The minters and collectors of OCM became our dedicated community, shaping our path forward. In those early days, we established our guiding !RISE principles (Respect, Integrity, Sustainability, Enrichment). From these values, we built one of the best communities in Web3. We introduced our give-to-earn model where you gain by giving. Our off-chain Banana token pioneered a give-to-earn mining mechanism, where OCMs generously gave a Banana to earn one for themselves. This model helped OCM unite as a family and thrive together. In February of this year, Genesis etched its name in history once again by being the first to record (or inscribe) 10,000 images (and metadata) of a collection onto Bitcoin. Not only is OCM preserved for prosperity on Bitcon now, we did it in another innovative feat, in a single inscription (#20219) and using less than 20 kilobytes for the whole 10,000 collection. This was yet another landmark achievement in high-quality digital art created entirely on-chain and at scale. Now, we're on the brink of a historic transition, where our members will soon be able to migrate and upgrade their Genesis from Ethereum to Bitcoin. Also in February, we inscribed OCM Dimensions, which we unveiled In June. With Dimensions, we pioneered the use of recursive inscriptions on Bitcoin, introduced parent-child collection provenance, and incorporated on-chain compression.
