“Oblivion and Skyrim are modern day RPG slop with watered down systems and quest markers that ruin everything. Morrowind is so much better.” Morrowind gameplay:

People who post shit like this should be obligated to post their character stats.

>account named "RPG Enjoyer" >praises dumbed down action slop >bashes actual RPGs Please throw yourself into the Puzzle Canal, n'wah.

Morrowind fans are deeply insecure about their favorite game which makes them supremely easy to bait it’s hilarious

Name "RPG Enjoyer", complaining about RPG gameplay where stats matter more than skill.

You might have intended for this to be a dig but it's just proving the claim.

Fails to manage stamina. Most likely uses weapon he's intrained for since you are using armor you are untrained for. Stiff camera movemwnt indicates a controller. Shows combat when talking about quest markers. Yup, this is one of the most retarded posts I've seen here lately.

0 agility 0 long sword skill 1 big dream ahead

What's your longblade skill and agility score, gamer.

Yeah, RPGs should involve dice-rolls, especially in combat. If your character isn't trained with using Short Blades then they're gonna suck at hitting enemies with them. Morrowind actually expects you to use your brain instead of just auto-piloting.

This is why I'm a mage in every game because I can hop from one side of the map to the other. Also, idk what it is, but old games vibe can be so peak.

People say this and then ignore the fact that Skyrims and oblivions combat also suck the only difference is marginally better animations (product of its time) and the fact that you can’t miss your swings. You still just mindlessly wail at enemies with little to no hit feedback

Morrowind is a serene experience, enthralling the player from they step off the ship in Seyda Neen, weaving stories around them, giving tidbits of information, revealing a grander picture, all the while letting the player soak the atmosphere and enjoy the game at a fair pace.

Low fatigue and no investment in agility and longblade The only bad thing about this system is how just casually running drains your stamina before a fight

We're reaching levels of tourist never thought to be possible! The tourism detector exploded!!

>fatigue You do know the instructions literally explained this, right? I get that modern gamers expect a forced tutorial every game actively pointing everything out, but its not exactly hidden information.

this stops being a problem like really early on in the game. Once your stats have leveled up a bit, misses are far less common I want to play more games that make your character objectively bad at combat early on, only to later become a god through training and leveling up

'RPG enjoyer' doesn't understand how proper RPGs work

Yeah, compared to MODERN RPGs this looks like crap. But I played this on the original Xbox. This game was beyond perfection in its generation. Like comparing a Model T to a Tesla.

0 agi 0 long blade skill 0 IQ post

You can avoid this by simply building a character that works . Just put your main weapon type as a major and use a race that gives you a bonus to it . It really is that easy . Straight out the gate you can be killing things easy

Morrowind was so much fun having a house and laying out a zillion items, books, gems, skulls, lanterns, etc Oblivion & Skyrim were ruined for me because of wonky physics if you walked past an item it went flying $%&#ing skyrim/oblivion totally RUINED/REMOVED that experience

YOU ARE OUT OF STAMINA O U A R E O U T O F S T A M I N A

I played morrowind for the first time this year (still playing it), and while it is easy to make fun of, it's kind of still a masterpiece.

Peak

Riveting

it was meant to replicate a DnD feel of dice roles. and it was peak. morrowind easily has a better story then a lot of newer games and it comes from a time that leaned heavier into the lore, even the more screwed up bits.

N’Wah spreading the Imperial propaganda. Morrowind rules outlander !

You're not even addressing the points made, all you care about is how the game looks visually. You can have the most visually pleasing game ever but if the mechanics and the systems in the game are shit, it's still a shit game. I also agree that quest markers ruin MMORPGs.

It's not like Oblivion and Skyrim are the pinnacle of RPG combat, either.

Playing openmw right now, and not only that, but most of the quests I encounter are so openly "fetch" it hurts. Just go deliver, go take, go put, no second layer of story, nothing. And then the famous lack of the horrid auto leveling which means.. yeah you just can't go anywhere

This is embarrassing, does “RPG Enjoyer” really not understand how to play Morrowind? The air is thick with larp

I still like morrowind more for the overall landscape and dungeon design needing to ask around for directions and navigating the world with vague directions is way more fun
