The periods were not me being serious or suddenly convinced the game is finished; they were the sarcasm. When I wrote “oh my god its so over… rotk was fun while it lasted….” the trailing periods and the flat ellipses were doing the actual work of the sentence, the same way an exaggerated sigh or a deadpan “sure” does in person. I was deliberately copying the tone of a melodramatic eulogy and then undercutting it with the mechanical periods so it would read as ironic rather than earnest. In plain text there is no voice or face to signal the joke, so that punctuation habit is the marker people have used for years to show the surface claim should not be taken straight. I was reacting to the rant in the video by performing the doomer announcement, not issuing one. The periods are the tell that the whole line was sarcastic.

There was a big miscommunication thump was talking to rogue or huskers I don’t remember which one (off stream) but they were talking about rumors and Teuf read it thinking that what they were saying was true and got into an argument. We don’t know what they were talking about.
