Well, apparently Google Earth doesn’t measure the poles. Big deal. It probably has something to do with the satellite image stitching. As for the 53,610 km measurement, that is from an ASAID study measuring the ice sheet. I asked Grok to simplify it for me.

It measures just over 16,000 km in your demonstration. You can see the miles number just before you click on the last point. So quite a bit smaller then The equator. The effect you are seeing is related to the software being used.

This is something I've had happen. A shortcoming of Google earth. The shape tool does not work intuitively. You can't draw any shape and where you want because it calculated that shape to stretch relative to the poles. It's a 3D math sphere calculation thing and it's annoying.
