HB 1064 – Would have banned out-of-state hedge funds from buying up Oklahoma homes, driving up prices, and locking families out of homeownership. Our neighborhoods shouldn’t be treated like a stock portfolio. (2/5)

HB 1051 – Would have modernized Oklahoma’s restrictive zoning laws to allow for more housing options and market-driven solutions to increase supply and lower costs. HB 1051 failed to proceed to a vote because no one seconded the motion for it to pass. (3/5)

HB 1050 – Would have ended outdated parking mandates that drive up development costs and make housing more expensive. There would still be parking—just not more than necessary. (4/5)

These bills would’ve helped make homeownership & housing more accessible & affordable; however, there was no effort from the majority to address the issue. Despite this setback, I’ll continue to push for legislation that tackles real problems & improves the lives of Oklahomans.

There real truth is no one is stupid enough to get a mortgage at the current interest rates and escalation of property taxes in counties that come along with it.

The proposals sound great. I’m not trying to be disrespectful but I anticipate if I.C.E. begins serious deportation operations in OK we might find a solution to the housing shortage . 2021 data states 85k living in Ok . I suspect there’s many more.
