One reason investors love Ather Energy is that they have a 94 percent software attachment rate. That is to say that 94 percent of Ather buyers buy 'Ather Stack Pro' that opens up all sorts of software-driven options on Ather scooters. This actually brings in a lot of money into the company, and Ather does this not as a 'subscription' but as a one time purchase. And there are comstant updates to the stack - many were announced at the Community Day keynote earlier. At the media interaction I asked Tarun Mehta not just about Ather's software ambitions but whether the new buyers that the more affordable EL Platform will bring are going to be interested in buying ₹15,000 software packages. And he gave the example of what happened when Ather went into Madhya Pradesh.

I don't know if this should make us proud or disappointed, that a 2 wheeler company has to give BETTER ROUTE options instead of Government making every Road Pothole Free. Despite the latest controversy, I want Ola Electric to succeed. This is will only accelerate manufacturing in India. Yes, a lot of spare parts of Ola scooties are imported from China but you can’t do much at this point- you start with assembly and slowly whole ecosystem is built around with SMEs producing and supplying key components. Ola is doing at least some in-house manufacturing, that’s how they got PLI. Tata Nixon right now is the best selling EV; one time it used to frequently catch fire but they fixed it. I hope Bhavish Aggarwal spends time understanding genuine complaints and fix the products in due time instead of picking fights off twitter. Ola has distribution and production capacity, they need to fix some quality issues, hope Bhavish get down to business. Here is video of Ola electric factory.

Future of all interfaces on a two wheeler - voice! We have been excited about it for a long time. Ather pretty much invented the concept of touch screens on 2Ws (being the first to do that on a production bike) and we continue to invest heavily into capabilities and feature sets on it. But even as we push the envelope on that front (almost half of our vehicles today ship with a touch TFT and 100% ship with on-board compute and connectivity) we believe the future could very well be one that does not need you to glance at the display at all. Using LLMs and natural language processing and bundling that inside our smart helmets (Halo) we believe that being able to ‘just tell’ your scooter what you want can be super intuitive. In fact far more intuitive than stationary applications like mobile phones, laptops etc. On a scooter you can’t operate touch while riding and we would rather have you glance as little as possible when in heavy traffic or at high speeds. Being able to just tell your Ather what you want, especially inside the cocoon of your helmet (or on any bluetooth headset really) is a significant tech and experience upgrade for riders: Navigation: “Take me to Nandi Hills,” “Navigate home,” “Let’s go to Cubbon Park,” “How far is the nearest charger?” “ETA to jaljog choraha?” "Time to stadium circle?" Vehicle Settings: “Decrease brightness,” or “Maximum brightness,” “Change Traction control to Rain,” “Magic twist, High,” “Share my live location.” Calls: “Call Rohit” - This is fully integrated with your existing contact list. The media like Economic Times covered it, called it a warning. (I never warned) And now this. When can we be really proud of an Indian EV brand.? I want to like many, but after sales service support is lethal for customers. Bots and paid tweets can't solve them. EV Doctor Device (Made by our team) can help you solve battery related issues.
