The fact that Kwaku Manu seems to believe that only the NPP can deliver development projects in the Ashanti Region is quite surprising. Development is a national responsibility, not the exclusive preserve of any political party. The people of the Ashanti Region deserve progress and investment regardless of which party is in power. Do the people of the Ashanti Region cease to be citizens deserving of development the moment the NDC takes office? For the record, during its eight years in government, the NPP completed and operationalized several hospital projects, including Bekwai, Tepa, Konongo, Kumawu, and Fomena. The NPP administration also completed and brought into operation five VAMED hospitals at Anomagye, Sabronum, Twedie, Manso Nkwanta, and Drobonso. In addition, while Afari Hospital was reportedly about 95% complete and Sewua Hospital had been completed and commissioned, the NPP also completed and commissioned two Agenda 111 hospitals; Oforikrom and Trede in 2024 before H.E Fmr. HOSPITALS BUILT BY NPP ABANDONED‼️‼️ This is the northern belt Psychiatric Hospital at Tamale built by the NPP Government under the Nana Addo/Bawumia administration which has been abandoned by John Mahama The project is located in Tamale South and is being left to the mercy of the weather, with no continuation of work. This health infrastructure was meant to transform mental healthcare in Northern Belt of the country so that they don’t have to travel all the way to the costal belt for mental illness treatment.

Major upgrades are also underway at Mbuya Nehanda Hospital—now approximately 70 percent complete—as well as at Sally Mugabe Hospital and Mpilo Hospital. These projects represent some of the most significant investments in Zimbabwe’s public health infrastructure in recent years. According to Dr. Paul Tungwarara, all the hospitals currently under rehabilitation are expected to be completed and officially handed over before the end of this year. This accelerated progress reflects a strong commitment to improving healthcare delivery across the country.
