On a related note: I saw a documentary called "American Hollow" about a decade ago, and this scene has always stuck with me. A man on "disability" has to go 3 days without Prozac and for the first time, begins to question the life he lives.

Not medical advice. I never thought about self-harm or the validity of life than when I was on SSRIs, for some reason I missed a dose and unironically woke up. Flushed the rest and got a different doctor, in my experience this is evil.

Wow exactly my point (in my other comment). Some people wrongly think that people who are addicted to pain killers are the main issue. But if you take away access to the psychiatric medication too, you’ll start to find out that it’s all just a different head on the same snake.

Prozac changes how your brain works, you can never go off of it and the people who do are never the same as they were before taking it.

My mom has been on mood stabilizers her whole life and it's only made her worse imo.

I was on Zoloft for about 8 months total when I was 20 years old. After a few weeks, I felt numb to everything. Yes, my depression was kind of under control. But, I felt like I had no soul. I didn't enjoy anything except sitting on my ass and playing video games. I decided to slowly wean myself off after a few months. I would not recommend getting on these medications. It turns out that what I REALLY needed to do was eat healthy, exercise, take supplements, and address the problems that were causing my anxiety and depression. It took me years to figure out that medication and intoxicants were not the answer.

So few people realize once you stop taking Prozac you're pretty much on it for life. There was a caller on Alex's show a year or two ago that spoke of his multi year journey to get off his SSRIs. It was horrible.

In my troubled teen years I was off and on this stuff. Bad times, good times; world exploding battles no one will ever know about while moving a body, doing stuff: "Normalling" Years later I went one year with insomnia, no REM just micro-sleep. The only way out:

Bring back state hospitals

If you fix the food system, the medical and pharma systems then you will be able to wean many people off their pills. In over 100 years pharma hasn't cured a single illness. You have been scammed by the experts.
