How Flare lets smart contracts see other chains Most blockchains are blind to the outside world. A contract on one chain cannot natively check whether a payment happened on another, which is why cross-chain activity has leaned on bridges and trusted middlemen. Flare ☀️'s Data Connector takes a different route. A developer submits an attestation request for an external event, a payment on the XRP Ledger, a Bitcoin or Dogecoin transaction, even data returned by a Web2 API. Flare's independent data providers each verify the event happened, and their answers are combined into a single proof. That proof lands on-chain, where any smart contract can consume it. External data becomes an input to on-chain logic without trusting whoever supplied it, since the providers attest to the underlying event rather than passing along a claim. We all remember. We all remember when blockchain was pitched as the next big thing. And today, we feel like we’ve been waiting and waiting. Until recently, Blockchain was too expensive, slow under load, and hard to integrate for most businesses. So enterprises ignored it. It didn’t solve their business problems. That’s changed. Why blockchain, why now? Businesses don’t care about the tech, they care about cost and performance. They’d ask a simple question “Does it save or make me more money?” For a long time, blockchain didn’t clearly do this. That’s no longer true. The Bank for International Settlements just put the XRP Ledger in an OFFICAL working paper. Not a tweet. Not a leak. Working Paper 1374. I opened the page myself. They built a proof of concept on XRPL to timestamp official statistics. Hash on-chain. Data off-chain. 3–5 seconds to publish. 1–2 seconds to verify. They said they used XRPL for low fees and fast finality. Then they sent 10 drops of XRP to stamp the hash. While this isn’t BIS running the world on XRP, it’s sure as hell a start. ✅ Paper in the replies.

Avalanche's co-founder helped build a proof-of-work currency six years before Bitcoin... Emin Gün Sirer (Emin Gün Sirer🔺⚔️) co-designed Karma at Cornell in 2003 with two of his students. His bios call it the first currency to mint coins through proof-of-work, though Wei Dai's 1998 b-money proposal sketched the idea earlier. Karma aimed to stop freeloading on file-sharing networks by tracking what each user gave and took, long before Bitcoin introduced proof-of-work money. Korea's NHN KCP runs a 2-second stablecoin payment pilot on Avalanche NHN KCP confirmed today that it is running a commercial-feasibility pilot for stablecoin-based payments linked to its Payco easy-payment service. The test covers online gift certificate purchases inside the Payco app and offline payments at the cafe and cafeteria in the company's Seoul headquarters, with about 700 employees participating.
