I don't know about Moscow, but most big cities in the US are ugly and dilapidated compared to the great cities of Europe.

Some good points, but it's hard to argue Tokyo isn't a more pleasant city to exist in than pretty much all US cities. Limited traffic, walking everywhere, excellent public transport, safe, clean, no homeless, etc. American cities should learn from cities like Tokyo. Tokyo is better.
