On the eve before testifying before the House Oversight committee earlier this year, my colleagues and I got to join Republican members returning from their districts at a casual meal hosted by Tom Emmer. We played it cool as names like Anna Paulina Luna and Nancy Mace walked in.... We enjoyed real talk with our Minnesota delegation, who are just plain people doing good work. At the end, we were giving our goodbyes and moving to return to our hotels when a staff member notified us that Brandon Gill was on his way and wanted to chat with us about the fraud taking place in our state. "Who?," I asked. Had no idea who he was. But we dutifully stuck around. Dude shows up a few minutes later with a notepad and a pen. Peppers us with extensive questions. Takes notes.
