Kitten update #36 The poll isn't even over yet but the box definitely won. But it was a little bit of an unfair match up because Jeff turned the box into an exciting game of whack-a-cat. The kitties' eyes are really changing fast now. Gus still has a bright blue ring around the outside of his iris but the rest is pretty green-gold.

Sora's videos look impressive, but physics understanding and consistancy is still not there yet. It was a quite simple script: "A humanoid robot standing near the table with red, green and blue cubes on it performs a cube stacking task, with red in the bottom and blue on the top." Pretty impressive that it still managed to achieve the goal, only not in a very usual way.

I had a pet cat living in one of the Las Vegas tunnels, being cared for by a homeless man. As a cat lover, it was hard to see. The man has chosen to live in that tunnel and has been there for over a decade—that’s his decision. But the cat doesn’t have a choice. It raises a real question: if someone chooses to live this way, is it acceptable for an animal to be brought into it?

📍 Western North Carolina No one has called this place home in a long time, but at one point, the Teague family called this homestead their own in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It started as a simple log cabin, built sometime in the mid-1800s. Over the years, it grew into the 1.5-story saddlebag house still standing today. Look close, and you can still see the outline where the front porch used to be. The creek and river beside the home swelled during Hurricane Helene in 2024. Bridges were wiped out, roads destroyed, and many modern homes nearby didn't survive. But this old place did. Empty for years, open to the weather, carrying its scars, yet still it stands. I hope someone realizes the value in a place built this well, and breathes new life into it.
