Dato Curioso: Cantó "Try a Little Tenderness" y "Respect" esa noche. Trágicamente, al día siguiente (10 de diciembre), su avión se estrelló en el Lago Monona, acabando con su vida a los 26 años, justo después de grabar su mayor éxito: "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay".😥✨ @OscarBarbera7

This is footage from a Cleveland teen dance show "Upbeat" Dec 9, 1967. Otis was killed Dec 10 when his small plane crashed on the way to a concert in Madison, WI. All died except trumpeter Ben Cauley, and bassist James Alexander who flew commercial with the band's gear.

Cannot believe he was only 26 when he took his last breath. His voice and the depth of feeling behind it belied his tender age.

I can’t get that image of him being taken from that plane still in the seat🥲

Just coming back to verify, this performance was indeed here in Cleveland on the show “Upbeat” hosted by @WEWS meteorologist, Don Webster. Upbeat was a very popular show, not just here in Cleveland. It had gained some regional/national notoriety. Cleveland was a music hub! 🤗🤌🏾

The verse on Dock of the Bay that was whistled was because the song wasn’t completed in the recording session. It was released with the whistling to preempt the missing lyrics.

"Hard to Handle", co-written by Otis Redding in 1967, and this band's cover dropped in 1990. If I see brass in a video, it gets my vote on sharing. Can you name the band? Do you remember this cover, or the original?
