Tomorrow starting at 6am and as part of our Green Legacy Initiative, we will aim to plant 700 million seedlings in a single day. An ambitious target, but one that reflects the strength, unity, and determination of our people. This is more than just tree planting. It is a call to action for every citizen, young and old, urban and rural, to take part in restoring our environment, protecting our water sources, improving livelihoods, and securing a sustainable future for generations to come. I urge each and every one of you to mobilize and participate. Together, we can grow not only trees but a stronger, greener Ethiopia.

Just a week ago, we were notified that Mexico was preparing to release millions of gallons of sewage into our region. Thanks to public pressure, awareness, and advocacy—Mexico is now redirecting that sewage to their own treatment plant instead of dumping it into the U.S. We are cautious, but this could be a huge win for our communities, our coastline, and our environment. It proves that when we raise our voices, we can protect what matters. Let’s keep up the fight for clean water and accountability!
